Art - The Renaissance
Florence, with its treasures, is two hours away from Punta Ala. The Renaissance started there, and there you can find most of the masterpieces from Michelangelo (the David, the Medici Chapels, the so called Slaves) along with amazing sculptures and paintings by the likes of Cellini, Botticelli, Leonardo, Raffaello, Giambologna, Ghiberti, Masaccio, Bronzino, Pontormo, Verrocchio, Giotto, Donatello, Paolo Uccello, Piero della Francesca ...
A little closer than Florence is Arezzo, where you can find the majority of the works of Piero della Francesca.
Siena, with its beautiful Cathedral enriched by the mosaics designed, among others, by Domenico Beccafumi and Pinturicchio, is halfway between Punta Ala and Florence.
