The VIlla is a perfect base for a golf buddies trip among some of the best Tuscan and Italian golf courses. In a few days you can range from playing technical and slopy courses carved in the forest with amazing views on the sea, to links courses with festuce and mounds; and if you're willing to go a little further, the Marco Simone Golf Club, set to host the 2022 Ryder Cup, is three hours from the Villa. The mediterranean climate makes it possible to play every time of the year.
Golf Club Punta Ala
The Punta Ala golf course was carved in the late sixties through the mediterranean scrub of the tuscan Maremma.
It's a technical but beautiful golf course, a tough test even for the more skilled player, requiring great shotmaking; the fairways are slopy and narrow and it's rare to have an even lie.
The design, based on the natural beauty, is brilliant and some views are amazing; most of the holes are based on a risk-reward strategy.
The golf course is 5 minutes away from the Villa by car.
See our blog for further informations.
Golf Club Toscana
The Golf Club Toscana, also known as "Pelagone", is an easier golf course compared to Punta Ala, but still fun to play.
The fairways are larger and a little flatter, but the views are still beautiful (no sea, though).
The course is 30 mintues by car from the Villa.
Golf Club Bagnaia
The Golf Club Bagnaia is a stunning golf course with amazing views on the hills of Siena.
Quite a technical course with very fast greens.
It is located more or less at an hour from the Villa.
Golf Club Castelfalfi
The Golf Club Castelfalfi is rated as the most difficult golf course in Italy, due to its steep slopes.
It's also a very hard course to walk and the use of a buggy is almost mandatory, especially during the hot summer days.
The course is quite hard to reach, being located in the deepest countryside of Siena, but the amazing views make the visit worthwile, at least once in a lifetime.
Golf Club Argentario
The Golf Club Argentario, located more or less an hour south of Punta Ala is basically a links course, which makes it a good diversion if you played Punta Ala the day before...
